Resumen

La prueba de aliento para Helicobacter pylori con urea marcada con carbono 13 (13C-urea], que en adelante se denominara con la sigla PAU-Hp13C®, es una prueba de laboratorio diseñada específicamente para la detección de Helicobacter pylori en el estómago mediante la identificación de la actividad de la ureasa a partir del metabolismo de una pequeña cantidad de 13C-urea, como evidencia de la presencia de esta bacteria en la cavidad gástrica.
