Cooperation Agreement

University of Antioquia - Colombian Medical Publisher

The Certified Continuing Medical Education Program is developed through the publication Medicina & Laboratorio® within the cooperation agreement between the University of Antioquia and the Colombian Medical Publisher (EDIMECO SA).

Medicina & Laboratorio®, as a Continuing Medical Education Program, has a presence in more than 100 municipalities in the department of Antioquia, 440 municipalities in the rest of the country and 29 capital cities.

How does the program work?

Each issue of the journal includes a self-assessment. If more than 70% of the questions in the four issues (equivalent to one volume) are answered correctly, the Department of Medical Education of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Antioquia will certify, within three months of the publication date of each volume, seven academic credits, corresponding to 110 hours of study, under the distance learning modality.

Who can participate?

Medicina & Laboratorio®'s primary goal is to promote high-quality continuing medical education by providing ongoing training and updates through the dissemination of manuscripts on topics of current interest to healthcare professionals. It is aimed at physicians, scientists, laboratory personnel, and related fields.

What are the benefits of certification?

Participation in the Program not only promotes scientific updating in health and permanent self-learning, but the credits granted by the Department of Medical Education of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Antioquia can be used in selection processes for aspiring teachers, and for students in postgraduate programs, in the modality of medical and surgical specialties, or related professions in which they are applicable.
